Overview
A bioelectronics experiment exploring whether a remote signal could drive directional movement in a cockroach model. The work combined breadboard wiring, a radio receiver, and a live biological preparation.
Interfacing electronics with a living system demanded careful wiring and a steady, methodical approach.
What I did
- Connected a signal receiver to a cockroach to control directional movement.
- Optimized wiring on a breadboard and translated remote input/output signals into a receiver that controlled movement.
- Connected the receiver to cockroach antennae secured to the exoskeleton.
Outcome
The setup demonstrated remote directional control and gave hands-on experience interfacing electronics with a living system.
